Brand new PC. First time putting one together, so obviously having lots of problems. Went through a few obsticles to get here... and now here is my new problem:

I think I somehow uninstalled my mouse and keyboard (when windows logged in they wouldnt work, pointer woudlnt even show up) so I tried to repair Windows. I booted from my CD and did a repair. It repaired and then rebooted. It got to the windows bootup, and the bar loaded at the bottom... for like .5 seconds (not five, point-five, if you didn't notice), then it rebooted. This time it got me into a screen giving me the options to boot in safe mode, normal, last known config, and a few others. None work. It just reboots as soon as it gets to the logo. Sometimes a blue screen with text flashes but its so short I cant even make out a single letter.

Anyone have any ideaS?

I cna't even get into windows, so I have no idea how to format. I don't know how, so that would be nice to know too.

I tried reinstalling it once, but it didn't really give me the option to reinstall. It just gave me the option to "repair" - which I did twice, and that fixed nothing.

I also got into the recovery consol and did fixboot and fixmbr - both of which did absolutely nothing.

I want to format.. but I dont know how.

Not at all is there a Restore option like F10 or something. If not reformat and reinstall Windows. Good Luck...

The blue reveal is the Blue reveal of dying (BSOD) look it up on Wikipedia for added info. i circulate to assume you carry down the button on the front and turn the laptop rapidly off without shutting down homestead windows first. Have some new RAM put in. If that would not artwork, purchase a sparkling XP disc and re-deploy. continuously you need to opt for initiate > Shutdown. not at all use the button on the front till the laptop is punctiliously frozen. Apologies in case you do.

usually you can boot from the windows cd. your bios should try to boot from the cd before it even thinks about windows. and it will allow you to re-install windows. if it won;t read from the cd, then you might have a bios problem. which ain't good.
