Because he sent others to return and report on their progress. He also spent much time writing them and making sure their growth was centered on the Lord. He also spoke many times of his love and concern for those he was writing. He was also responsible for collecting donations for those who were starving in Jerusalem.

Just read the 7 authentic letters Saint Saul wrote; Romans, 1 & 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Philippians, Philemon, 1 Thessalonians. The others were written by other people.
