The most beautiful, the most sincere, the most elevated and the most exalted kind of love is most certainly the love of GOD, and for Whom creation was brought into existence to adore. GOD is the one to Whom hearts turn in love, exhalation and glorification, humility, submission and worship.... It is the perfection of love accompanied by complete submission and humility.GOD is loved for His own sake in every respect. All except Him are loved for the love they give in return.
Hearts, as they mature, come to love whomever is merciful and kind towards them. So how much greater is their love for Him from Whom all kindness springs!
Every good thing enjoyed by His creation is one of His limitless blessings....
you don't need a symbol of something to belive God is there...god in your heart

If a man had told you there is a Way to a better place, would you go? I will say differently about some of your points. I have heard Him once, I have FELT Him more than once, I have seen things I can not explain, I do not want money. Yes there are many falsechrists gone into the world, that if it were possible could fool even the very elect. That in itself is proof for me, I have seen the lies, hypocrisies and the like. Gullable, not in the least, I have seen the evidence of things not seen. There is nothing new under the sun, it is all written in the Word of Truth. Noone spends the time to even search these things out, the Kingdom of Heaven can not be observed through observation!

What makes you think that these people are "brainwashed" - as you thought they are? There are people who experience miraculous healing, saw angels, came back from the gates of life and death. Are people to be termed as "brainwashed" as well?
How do you know these are people who "only wanted money" as in your words? Maybe you did see cases of fraud by religious leaders on TV, but don't you think that you are being "brainwashed" as well? Don't you know that media is a form of propaganda and is controlled by "people who only wanted money"? Some news programmes are being strictly controlled by the state. How do you know it is not the state's way of controlling what people believe in? For example, "Anna and the king" is banned in Thailand because the authorities did not want the people to be distorted in their believing that their king is not who they thought to be.
If you insist only to "felt" something then believe in it, how do you exactly "felt" life, air, happiness... or more infinite things in life that has no shape, no fixed volume, no weight, can't be seen? Yet, you believe in life, in air and happiness. Aren't you being "brainwashed" as well?
So, you have the nerve to say all these things and not think about them properly first. How "gullable" (it is "gullible" by the way) you must feel!
It is important to keep an open mind and be flexible. Just only because you see and hear some examples, doesn't mean you generalize the whole race.
You need to grow up, man!

"blessed are those who do not see and yet believe"
i have my reasons. i have my thoughts. i have my beliefs. but instead of preaching, i thought you might enjoy this:
the barber said: "I don't believe that God exists." "Why do you say that?" asked the customer.
"Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist. Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain. I can't imagine a loving a God who would allow all of these things."
The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument The barber finished his job, and the customer left the shop. Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard. He looked dirty and unkempt. The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber: "You know what? Barbers do not exist." "How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber. "I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!" "No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers don't exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside."
"Ah, but barbers DO exist! What happens is -- people do not come to me." "Exactly!" affirmed the customer. "That's the point! God, too, DOES exist! What happens is -- people don't go to Him and do not look for Him. That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world."

You make the incorrect assumption that I have been, and continue to be, brainwashed. You sir, have not lived my life. You were not there when I sought answers to spiritual questions. I don't recall speaking with you when I found those answers or when things happened in my life which proved, at least to me, the existence of God. I hold no hostility towards Atheists or people of other faiths but I will not sit by and allow you to call me gullible, or take it for granted I am brainwashed when you know nothing about me. If you do not want to be stereotyped, then don't stereotype me. I was under the impression that Atheists live by the rule of treat others as you wish to be treated.

I was not raised in a Christian home from birth. At the age of 12 I learned of God on my own and showed Him to the rest of my family. I have turned my back on much money in serving Him and have had very little to give to the church. I have seen Him heal someone I loved very much. I have seen Him answer the prayers of a congregation of believers for the healing of a little boy in such a way that the doctors who cared for him were utterly perplexed. The Spirit of God lives in me and can not be denied. He sent an angel to feed me when I was very hungry and alone, and I have seen Him in a way you would never believe could be. He removed brain washing.
Not guilty on all counts.

The three Abrahamic Faiths, Judaism, Christianity and Islam, are faith-based religions. They are faiths based upon the belief of an unseen Deity: G-d, God, Allah (same name, different languages).
The religion you reference is obviously Christianity. It's not all about money either. Typically, you will find the Orthodox and Hassidic Jewish communities to be well established and well supported, due to to contributions in shul and otherwise. In Christianity, you will find similar circumstances for members of the church. While again you will find these same occurrances for those who are members of an Islamic community. It's called tithing and in Christianity, it means 10% of your income. It's done once a year for Muslims (correct me if I'm wrong, please) and if you are able. While still the Jewish community pays for their seating during Holy days and during other times.
While you may not believe what believers in G-d believe, you should respect others as you would want to be respected in your beliefs or lack thereof.
To you yours, to me mine.

I'm a believer technically. i'm not a Christian.
I can honestly say that yes, I have felt my Gods. They are quite there. No church gets my money, I have been a member of some places but I would hardly call asking for $30 a year someone robbing me.
If Christians believe and it makes them happy, and they don't shove it down everyone else's throat. Why not let them? They should determine how they live their own lives, everyone should.

My immediate thought is that you don't know how to use spellcheck.
My second thought is: What about those of us who became atheists as adults and then chose to investigate theism again later on, in a totally different religion? We clearly haven't been "brainwashed" as children. There are many religions that do not ask for money from their followers (your beef, really, seems to be with Christianity, and there are a LOT more religions out there than just that one). And who are you to say that we have not felt the presence of the Divine?
You come across as both rude and arrogant. I used to be an atheist, but honestly, I wouldn't have been caught dead associating with someone with your attitude.

I was taught since birth to believe in God? Really??? I should be an atheist then but I am not. I learned to think for myself instead of just believing everything I was told. You really should look up "brainwashing". It would seem that you don't know what it means.

I wasn't raised in a Christian home.
A messenger of God who came to me...at the same time my Grandfather died, a light that came through a window…that filled the room where I was praying for my Grandfather to be taken to the Lord and spoke to me “The Lord has heard your prayers and your Grandfather is resting” …A saw a Lamb over my head one night when I was in serious danger as it protected me... God had me speak the words of my Mother's death ...just several days before she died...Can you tell me why doctors tell me there is no medical reasons I live…as I should be dead….I could go on...yes, I hear the Lord speak to me.
EDIT:You are giving up your inheritance!
EDIT: Jesus only wants a relationship with you...I was young when I found him...I'm not sure where my life woud be without him.
EDIT: I don’t drink and I don’t smoke…I’m in my 40’s and I’ve been a believer from the time I was 12 years old. I rarely went to church, I fellowship in other ways…I’m non-denominational…I don’t follow a church doctrine and I don’t follow any TV preacher…yet…God still calls me.
