1/4 Cheddar cheese, shredded
1/4 lb. Swiss cheese, shredded
1 egg
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
Dash of red pepper
2 sheets - puff pastry (You can also use crescent rolls)
Mix together the three cheeses. Add egg, Worcestershire and red pepper. Mix together. Mixture will be lumpy. Sprinkle pastry lightly with flour. Roll out to 1/2 again extended size. Cut dough into 1 1/2 inch square. Place small amount of mixture in middle diaper style. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 18 minutes until browned. Makes 36 puffs. Puffs may be frozen before baking.

My Great-Aunt gave me a recipe for Cheese Puffs. I don't have it handy but will look for it and add to this message when I find it. I won't be able to look for it until tomorrow so please don't close out your question until I respond. What my great-Aunt made was square, very cheesy and soft. She made hers with french bread that she cubed. She dipped the cubes in a mixture (no mayonnaise in it but it did have cheese - I don't remember what all she used - but the recipe will tell me. I know she dipped them in something. Everyone loved them. If that sounds like what you are after, please keep your question open until I can find the recipe.

I checked out www.Pillsbury.com, but couldn't find a cheesy crescent roll appetizer that uses mayo. Check it out, though and see if anything jobs your memory. Best of luck, the special foods of our childhood are the best!

Cheese Puffs
Ingredients
2 large eggs
1 (3-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup cottage cheese
4 ounces feta cheese
1 (16-ounce) package frozen phyllo pastry, thawed
Unsalted butter, melted
Preparation
Beat eggs at medium speed with an electric mixer 1 minute; beat in cheeses.
Unfold phyllo, and cover with a slightly damp towel to prevent pastry from drying out.
Place 1 phyllo sheet on a flat surface covered with wax paper; cut lengthwise into 3 (12- x 6-inch) strips. Brush 1 long side of each strip with melted butter; fold strips in half lengthwise, and brush with butter.
Place 1 teaspoon cheese mixture at base of each strip; fold right bottom corner over to form a triangle. Continue folding back and forth into a triangle, gently pressing corners together.
Place triangles, seam side down, on ungreased baking sheets, and brush with butter. Repeat procedure with remaining phyllo sheets, cheese mixture, and butter.
Bake at 375° for 15 minutes or until golden.
Note: You may freeze unbaked pastries on baking sheets; remove to airtight containers, and freeze up to 2 weeks. Bake as directed without thawing.
