Usually this is referring to someone getting plastic surgery. Some people think once you get something done, you're part "plastic"

This means fake or phony. Yes plastic surgery can mean plastic but usually it means you are trying to be someone you are not. Either just to be liked or to try to be like others. Guys prefer someone who is real and honest. At least all the good ones do.

The term Plastic refers to someones personality as not being genuine. Like someone who gives false compliments, or puts up a goody front then turns around and acts like a bee-och. Also, plastic, in the sixties, was a way to refer to people who did not get high, but bought into society's "normal"behavior....unlike hipsters and beat-nicks.
Frank Zappa & the Mothers of Inventions lyrics come to mind

I really don't think the guy is talking about plastic surgery. Maybe I'm out of it, but I think it means the girl is being herself, not fake. Personality wise.

that's actually a compliment that has nothing to do with plastic surgery.. i've heard that it means "you're real, not plastic"-- like a barbie doll (for example) is fake and plastic, so they're saying you're a real, genuine person, not someone fake
it's a compliment :)

when i guy says your "real" and not "plastic", he's saying that you dont try to be someone your not, and you dont act how other people tell you how you should. you are your own person, which makes you beautiful. ever see mean girls? i.e. the plastics? those girls were fake about everything, no one knew who they really were on the inside. this is NOT you =]

Plastic in that sense is referring to being genuine, not phony and shallow. To further illustrate apply heat or pressure to plastic and it bends and molds to fit the situation just like someone with a plastic personality or disposition.

plastic is used to describe someone who is fake... or not real. they pretend to be something that they are not. so if someone says that you are "real" and not plastic... take it as a compliment. there are too many plastics in the world anyway. :0)
