Unless you are very very serious about loosing your acne, find a alternative. I was on it for 5 months and lost all my acne, but it has soooo many side effects. I was moody all the time and had random crying spells. It gets very bad for some people to the point where they are required to pull from the meds. Just be careful if you take it and pay attention for serious side effects.

Accutane is a powerful treatment for acne...there are many side-effects, some which are not pleasant, such as psychosis, blood conditions, organ damage. I would think twice about using this treatment....a dermatologist who tends to overlook "long-term" side effects and does not completely have the patient's welfare in mind...will readily prescribe it. Everybody's system is different, but it does have side effects if used for a long period....the up-side...it does clear the skin very well...but in my book, at a price.....

accutane can only be taken if prescribed by your dermatologist. its normally taken for 6 months because its the last resort to cure acne-- it is being used only when all other alternatives are used and still you get acne..

acne takes time to heal.. that's why accutane is being prescribed to be taken for 4-6 months...

it may cure your acne but think of its side effects. so better check it with your dermatologist...

i have a doctor friend who is taking it. he saw my face yet he didnt suggest i use it. it means the dermatologist knows only when to use or take it and what amounts so it wont harm your body too...

You have to be regularly monitored by a doctor while you're on accutane because it can have some very severe side effects. There are particularly high risks of liver damage.

You should ask these questions to a dermatologist. Accutane isn't like other medications.
