If your grocery store carries chutney it will be with sauces or pickles. Maybe your store has a section for ethnic, imported goods but I'm assuming you are in North America. In the UK you would already know where it is.

Depending on the store, it /should/ either be with other condiments, or in the 'ethnic' section.
If you cannot easily find it, ask an employee while you're there, or, to really save time, call the store ahead of time to see if they have it.
That way you don't waste your time driving from store to store to find what you really need/want.
