Aaron - the best TVs for what, TV viewing in SD, just digital, or HD, 420p DVD movies, HD movies, games (at what resolution), or ??? And what size screen, as not all mfgs. make all sizes? And what type, plasma, LCD, DLP, or ??? Your question, as asked, can't be answered.
Get 'educated' on what is out there and then re-post, if you need help. And pay NO attention to the subjective opinions expressed here, mostly by folks who don't know a RCA CRT from a Sony XBR series LCD. Read the Consumer Reports magazine 11/07 HDTV article, where TVs are rated by both performance and reliability and the following web sites for general info:

There are many good names:
Sony, Sharp for LCD televisions
Samsung for DLP rear projectors
Pioneer and even LG for flat panel plasmas
