The doctor should have prescribed Vicodin. That is what I was given when I had my wisdom teeth out.
Other than that, he should have also given you a sheet of paper explaining how to care for you teeth.
One thing: NEVER EVER EVER use a straw. Not for the first 2 weeks at least. It causes some suction thing in your mouth that can lead to dry socket (or something like that), which results in an infection.
Here, some tips from WebMD:

Tea bag over the whole will stop the bleeding. Ice and Ibuprofen for the pain. Contact your dentist tomorrow and ask from something stronger for pain.

are you still biting on the gauze? Pressure will stop the bleeding. also you can moisten a small tea bag, wrap gauze around it and bit down
do not spit, this will prolong the bleeding
for pain, you should take 800 mg ibuprofen (Advil)

your surgeon should have prescribed you something. I take mine out the 11th and my oral surgeon already sent a prescription in for me. I think tylenol would be good, just dont take to much of it. you will still feel pain once you take medicine, it just just takes time and you will be healed up in no time. As for the bleeding, you cant stop it, just keep some gauge in your mouth!
