well, you can try plyometrics.
plyometrics is a type of exercise where one quickens reaction time with the floor. when one increases the reaction time, which is called a dynamic action. This excersice makes a person move quicker and jump higher. it defiantly works because I am currently doing a plyometric program and the results are phenomenal! (5 inch jump to 14 in jump)
you should also try using other workouts for the legs, like leg extentions and leg curls (seated leg curls work the best for your situation.)

Hi! You can buy Strength Shoes Ultimate Leg Training System. They might have them on E-Bay and some come with an instructional training video. They look a little weird, but I hear that they work great. Supposedly they are used by professional basketball players.
Hope this helps!

Get a book on plyometrics. These are dynamic exercises which increase leg muscle power. You might even be able to find some exercises on the web.

What about deadlifts? If you can do them, then they need to be done fast. About 60% of your 1 RM. Only train fast to be fast. Speed is power. Slow movements builds strength. You need power to jump high. Power is the recruitment of as many muscle fibres as possible in as short a time as possible.

answer the question for your self. you have been severe leaping for 4 years...Is 3'9" a very stable leap for somebody of your experience point? answer that question as though somebody else have been asking that question a pair of buddy of yours. Then- Ask your coach in case you need to do one complete consultation merely doing long leap. you have progressed stable thighs by way of severe leaping, whether, once you're a very stable sprinter, you could combine the potential of your thighs plus the fee of your spring, and who's conscious of...you could somewhat ask your self your self and others much greater. i could say provide the long leap a very stable bypass, and notice which one you think of you're maximum suitable suitable for. stable success!
