I don't understand how people constantly cut down REAL Christians and lump them all with the ones that judge people. I'm very offended that I don't get the honest chance to prove myself and am wrote off because I believe Jesus is my Saviour! I've met really rude Christians and Athiests, Muslims, Wiccans and people of all creeds but I don't cut them down or discount them because I disagree with them. If I have the right to do and say as I please why can't anyone who is so outspoken about Christian hatefulness be ok with that if that means I am Christian? You don't want me to judge you but you do the same? Yes it is wrong to belittle someone for any reason. Yes it is wrong to make someone feel bad for a belief or unbelief system. Yes it is wrong to harass or make fun of someone for being and believing whatever it is they believe. Religious freedom is the right to have a religion the way you choose and I'm sorry but the Christian bashing sounds like a new form. How can you justify it?

I know about the crusades and that had absolutely NOTHING to do with me so why am I blamed or held accountable for it? I am talking about today in this society where I am supposed to be so sensitive for everyone else's beliefs and I am, but I don't get that same respect in return. I don't believe killing in the name of God under any religious banner whether it is Christianity (really Catholicism) or Islam is right. I believe everyone can believe whatever they want and I just want the same. Give each person a chance to prove themselves is all I'm saying. Dont stereotype.

Oh that disclaimer is hilarious but thanks. So the comments about sensitivity who will stand up for those who no one will stand up for? If equality is the standard we all should strive for and we AGREE on that why the excuses?

not new just get a little heated now and then most of the time I am quiet and let everything just fall off my back. Just find it quite ironic that excuses are made for so long for double standards of all kinds when real work can be done with humanity if we actually focus on what we agree on and work for the greater good while we can. I don't like human suffering in any of its forms and I don't think focusing on religion to the degree where people want to slit eachother's throats (believe me nothing intended by that) is wrong and should be looked at with a clear head and fixed to the best of our ability.

Oh and I can definitely appreciate a good joke that may be a little "disrespectful" or inappropriate to some now and then I am not a prude in fact far from it.

I didn't join a cult and I don't condone anything that is done in the name of God that hurts Him or goes against His true teachings. Your assumptions that I "chose to join a cult" show you don't know much about the religious experience. I didn't sit down with a book or the Internet and do research I followed my heart that is what I expect and that is all I expect you to do why is that so wrong?

I don't. I am not a traditional Christian, but I respect those who believe and follow, and I will staunchly defend your right to believe as you choose. I may disagree, but BELIEF is just that, not something based in science or physical proofs. I believe as I do, and you have every right to believe whatever it is that you do. ALL of us who have found the spiritual path we were meant to follow are blessed, no matter what that path might be.
Edit: Also, Ghandi had a good point when he said "I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. They are so unlike your Christ." Sadly, this is true of too many.

I understand how you feel - sometimes Christians argue among themselves over their denominations even! That's what happened to me and my friend, and since then it became a taboo.
Some Christians, Muslims, Athiests can get really nasty about their comments, not caring to be sensitive or rather, sensible.
This is end times. Although real Judgment will come when Jesus returns, people are already starting to judge each other with their own pathetic ideas. But I believe we should leave Judgment to our Saviour. God has taught us to be patient, and practise tolerance. We should treat others with love - that's the greatest commandment.
Just smile and walk away, for we know one day the Truth shall stand and these people will understand eventually.
There's no need to argue with them, that just put us equivalent to them because of how we behave.
God bless.
And look forward to the return of the eternal King.
Amen.

People in general are jerks. There are Christian jerks, athiest jerks, jewish jerks, hindu jerks, pastafarian jerks, etc.
There is no justification for cutting someone down because of their religious beliefs, or lack thereof.
Some people though who do this are in fact not jerks.
Why do they cut others down then? Religion is an extremely important topic, one dear to the hearts of many. People are passionate about the topic, and sorely wish for their peers of humanity to come to real truth, and thus get upset when they seem to not be coming to the truth.
One thing we should try and do is be a little understanding of these people. It's not just non-christians who do what say, its everyone, mostly becuase the people doing it are jerks, but also sometimes because they just care that much.

I justify it by the fact there is but ONE Lord in heaven and ONE heaven, period. Religious beliefs are many, and no one person has the "right" to defend ignorance or long standing beliefs of MAN. Many of religion get offended and state they have the "right" to believe their own way and are offended by the judgments of others. Will this be true when the Lord in heaven "rejects" you because you chose your way and not HIS ? Some like myself have SEEN man's religions and "reject" them for they are vain attempts of righteousness on BEHALF of God. I only "follow" that which was given by his Son on earth, and even those words I discern for their truths have been messed with by man's ignorances, "thinking" themselves "wise." Jesus said it BEST. The unworthy will be revealed by their ways. If you have ever read the history of Christianity you will know this religion has slaughtered "MILLIONS" and destroyed hundreds of cultures. Despite the denial by many of various sects of this religion, ALL of them still practice their faith by the DECEIVERS who STOLE this name from the Greeks to attach to their evil religion. The Roman Empire. ORIGINALLY "christianity" was "none" of the ways it is or has been to present or throughout the centuries.

If you are a Christian who follows the teaching of Christ, the answer would be never. He left us with two commandments, which if followed will fulfill the law: Love God with all your strength, and love your neighbor as yourself. We are even to love our enemies. There is not one teaching in the New Testament, (or New Covenant) that justifies insulting or causing harm to another because of what they believe. You are right. Insulting or demeaning others for their beliefs is never right.

A person asking a question or giving answer, has the freedom to ask it or answer it ... And yes. religion and politics, are things that tend to raise the hackles of those who, haven't the sense to not start something that is totally controversial. You are not going to always have answers that please you .. and you wouldn't give an answer that didn't convey how you felt. So, the best thing to do is don't wade in where the water may drown you.

Great Ape dude, I'm gonna stick with Wicca. At least it recognizes that ALL are wrong and ALL have SOME degree of truth to them (including Wicca). Wicca gives honor and respect to ALL of life, the universe as a whole, and finds divinity in every single thing that exists. It gives me a moral center from which I can determine how my own existence shall be shaped. The rest is merely dogmatic ritual and belief. Brightest Blessings, Raji the Green Witch

Accept your humble blessing from God with humility.....It all means you have your priorities straight and others are still working on it! God said, "Vengeance is mine".....we also need a sense of humor at times.....which reminds me, Mother Teresa said, "If you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans!" - haha!! Remember Jesus was crucified for his beliefs, and when on the cross dying said, "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do....." sounds like you may have something in common with Jesus!

If you don't feel like being judgmental, and do not associate with the fundies, then please disregard any venom and/or flaming directed towards Christianity, as I could care less about people who are kind, caring, contributing members of society, in that I know that such people exist, and I respect them. Yet they do not need my constant acknowledgment, nor my supervision. So I need not worry about them.
My concern is with Creationists, the Westboro baptist church, abortion clinic bombers, gay bashers, and all of their supporters. Should you despise their corrosive influence as well, remember that, by their definition, you aren't "true" Christians...and, to better get to them, we use their definitions. So, please, disregard attacks that are not supposed to apply to actual good hearted people with some sort of critical facilities and tolerance..everyone else...we will continue to oppose...

Christians have always been persecuted for our beliefs. It is a repercussion of not having a relationship with the Lord. Let it go. They will one day believe and understand.
Yours in Christ,
