I don't believe suicide sends people to Hell (I know Catholics believe it does and Baptists believe it doesn't, don't know about anyone else) -- however, if sacrificing your life for others sends you to Hell then Christians are in real trouble since their savior did just that! So if you're a Christian you'd better hope not!
I believe its the heart that's important; however, tradition Christian teaching is that having even thought a single sinful thought condemns you to Hell no mater what good you do (unless your sins are taken away through salvation), that only the perfect (i.e., NO ONE) can earn Heaven (even through self-sacrifice). I, however, am skeptical of this kind of damnation, and different religions and philosophies are bound to have other answers besides.

aggghhh!....all of this non secular babel (no pun meant....perhaps) is using me nuts! some human beings have an answer for each little component. all a sprint too handy for me. is there a heaven or hell? "specific there is!" "NO, there's no longer!" you already know, i think of i'll stay happy, believing and residing by way of the Golden Rule. If I finally end up in hell, i'm going to save a seat heat (ahh...) for you others that have inquiring minds. I easily have enormously plenty been informed that i'm headed there using fact i think there have been cave men. How do you dispute cave men......NUTS!!

The Bible is the authority on heaven and hell. It says nothing about committing suicide to go to hell. No one goes to hell based on suicide. No one goes to heaven based on the issue of suicide.

whould i go to a hell realm to save others? YES
both questions are about self sacrifice for the benefit of one or more people, they arn't different, although you do ask a third question would it be seuicide to knowingly save someone knowing that you would die as a result, no it wouldnt but yes it would at the same time, it would be as the knowledge is their but it wouldnt be becouse the motivation is not to kill yourself but to save another,

If the situation of saving someone from an oncoming car ever arose, religion would be the last thing on my mind......

Going to Hell for saving lives. How nice.
Next thing you know we'll hear people are going to Hell for loving each other. Oh wait, people already believe that too.

John
15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
15:14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

No in Jesus own words...every sin is forgiven of men ,except one...and that one was not killing yourself..it would have been amiss of Jesus not to list this one to if it were not forgivable...He definitely would have warned us... and something this important as our eternity , well Jesus said it in plain easy to understand words..every sin..except blaspeming the Holy spirit which boils down to rejecting His call upon your heart to be saved..
Sampson is a good example , God would not have given him the strength to kill himself and many others if it was going to land him in hell.. ((We only go to hell when we reject Jesus)) so it's our choosing))....Sampson was trouble and a rebel but God loved Him and granted his last prayer ...
Saul God's first and chosen king of Israel ..is another example the day before he killed himself before the battle he had "the prophet Samuel raised up to speak to him..Samuel told him tomorrow you will die and be with me/where I am.....where was Samuel, he was a phrophet and served God all of his days , he was without a doubt in heaven..Saul did take his own life and die ..just as Samuel said...hope this helped and gave you a different viewpoint...Good question and ......remember Jesus words .. not mine....every sin...

Good question.
IDK, but it would not stop me from doing the right thing.
And if the right thing was to die for someone else, then go to Hell, then that is what I would do.
Hope this helps.
