"This is a Christian country. Why, so is hell. Inasmuch as 'Strait is the way and narrow is the gate, and few-few-are they that enter in thereat' has had the natural effect of making hell the only really prominent Christian community in any of the worlds; but we don't brag of this and certainly it is not proper to brag and boast that America is a Christian country when we all know that certainly five-sixths of our population could not enter in at the narrow gate."

When one quietens down to meditate, they realize they are nothing but a humble child of God searching for a way home to Him. The narrow gate simply means that following Christ will not be easy and the more one follows Him, the narrower the path becomes. The road to Hell is fast, loose and very wide! Unfortunately, we are comfortable on the road to Hell until we hit a roadblock of pain and regret. We have an inclination to sin and work daily at trying to overcome it and stay on the narrow path which leads to Christ and eternal life. We are also not perfect and need to pray for each other - including the 5/6 population you think will not enter at the narrow gate - God may surprise you in the end with who He actually lets in.....

Matt 7:13-16

13 "Enter through the narrow gate . For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

15 "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16 By their fruit you will recognize them.
NIV

Matt 7:13-16
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

16 Ye shall know them by their fruits.
KJV
