woh! i just took out a thing of nutella (chocolate) from the refrigerator and put it in the microwave for only about 2 secounds and all of a sudden a freakin huge blue explosion happened inside my microwave (comming out of the jar)...what happen i only put it in for 2 seconds??? or am i just going crazy and seeing things???

sugar and fat molecules are most suseptable to micro wave energy, since nuttella has a high concentration of both sugar and fat it is always going to be sensitive and unpredictable in a microwave. try warming it in a pot of simmering water, or place a small amount in a large bowl and give it just a few seconds. in the jar it is in a confined area and can get quite energetic, in a less restricted bowl it will be less likely to jump out or pop

Of corse its alright! It's the same thing as microwaving peanut butter Just make sure you don't actually put the spoon in the microwave and dont put it in for to long, just until it melts, before it starts bubbling :)

Was the metallic lid cover on because that was the microwave arch and it is due to a metal device, and yes take the lid of, if you want to use some and soften it up warm in in a small microwavable bowl, nit the jar.

did you leave the top on? if not you need to nuke at 20 second intervals stirring in between intervals.... a hot bubble forms and when it pops, it makes the nutella explode everywhere!!! LOL....

You cannot microwave chocolate - it WILL explode.
