Well it's preferred that you marry someone who can make you better, in every way in addition to spiritually. It may be better for you if you marry someone who has a correct understanding of why they're here, someone who understands how to worship their lord, someone patient with what happens, someone who is always trying to get closer to their lord by doing as much good as they can, someone who knows that their lord sees and hears everything and not a soul can hide. Therefore, this person that you marry should be someone who you can grow with religously, and someone that is going to be a reminder for you when you are struggling with whatever it may be. And this special someone is usually in the same sect, but can be found in another sect. Which leads to my next question :). How do you know which sect is the right sect. But only He ( the lord of everything that exists) knows best! I hope I benefited you in some way :) Take Care!

Other than the 10 commandments maybe, I don't think we know much about what God wants. One might consider whether a Supreme Being and creator of all things really is focusing on the the religion of a particular bride or groom?

God does not want a broken bride. However, he clearly condemns homosexuality in the bible. This gets very controversial when it is debated whether it is a physical ailment or a mental one. Marriage is a holy covenant. It cannot be trashed and degraded to the point where it is simply known as a means to making a girl feel happy. Marriage was designed to take two sinners that can help each other grow in the Lord and not focus on selfish pursuits.

I'm pretty sure God wants you to marry someone of the same sect. Check with a priest.

In the first place, do you believe in God? have you lost your faith? have you back slided? Come to think of it, asking this kind of question in the first place. A true child of God who walks according to His ways and commandments and live a life worthy to Him know what God dislikes and even warns in His Holy word - Your answer is with you, the Holy bible, your Pastor, your family. Make a wise decision and let God bless you the rest of your life on earth.

It is the Bride of "Christ" that is spoken of in the Bible. I know this may be an inconvenient little fact for many.

If you clarify your question, then I might be able to give you a more clear view of my opinion.

Well in truth, there is only one Bride, but you are correct in pointing out that there is division (multiple at that, like in the thousands). Jesus prayed that they might be one, not multiple little bodies.
