Guys, how do you deal with competition from other men over women you're interested in?

There's the girl I recently met and was considering asking her out (she's being very flirty, touching me, laughing, etc.) We met yesterday in the union to talk about a research paper we were doing with some other people and some guy that's a bit bigger than me came over to us and started hitting on her, feeling her all up basically, I wasn't sure how to act? I didn't say anything or give off any emotion because obviously she's not my girl, but I wasn't sure what to do. What would you do in this situation, and what would you do if she was your girlfriend and some guy did this?

Or, for the women, how would you expect a guy you might be attracted to to react in this situation?

I like people to test people I care about. So let him test her, if she bites, she isn't worth it. If she pushes him away, hmmmmm I'd be more interested in her..... just because I don't care much for individuals that are that weak to allow someone to just come up to them and descide wow! I don't know you, your obvious just trying to get laid, so lets go out! I like people to think more of themselves....
