It is just a book. Tolkien made a hero of a Hobbit and a Wizard. So no.

I'm not offended by Harry Potter. I thought there was a difference between wizards and warlocks...

Never. I'm offended by Harry Potter and J. K. Rowling for not making him older.

I seriously don't understand what all the uproar was about Harry Potter. These same people watched Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie. My son's step-mom banned Harry Potter in her house, thanks to the church, until I pointed that out.

No. Instead, I'm offended by people who get offended over obvious works of fiction.

er,
hey
don't you get it
Potter is a fantasy?
what is so hard, is that people have made him into A g o d.
It is the people that offend for lining up for weeks to buy a mythical book
and refuse the Truth of Salvation
and joy and peace and the chastening of the Lord.
sigh, you just ain't getting it.......

I find myself amused lately by all the concern over whether people are "offended" or not.
People have somehow got the notion that being righteous and being offended are synonymous.
