I wanted to know if it was illegal to download songs from Limewire? I mean it is used for downloading! I don't really want to do anything illegal but if it's legal!
Also if you do download from limewire can you upload onto other sites legally?

Most people would say yes, and its true, but there are exceptions. First of all, It's only illegal to download stuff with copyrights. If a song has no copyright, which is rare but there are still quite a lot, than it is legal. But when you download stuff with limewire its peer 2 peer so your downloading from someone else's computer, so if its a text, a non copyrighted program or movie or song, or an image or photo (which has usually no copyright, it IS legal. (limewire ist illegal, its just the stuff you download with it has to match certain specs)

Personally, I think it all depends on the user. If you're going to download it for you mp3 player then its not illegal, but!
If you're gonna make a profit out of limewire then yes, it is illegeal.
I've used limewire for three years and have loaded to Microsoft Media Player, iTunes, and made copies onto CD's and you don't see me in jail lol.

Limewire itself is not illegal. However, 99.99% of the content on Limewire is illegally shared by people who should not be sharing them. And you'd be aiding and abetting them if you participate in the downloading of all those copyright violations.

The act of downloading from Limewire isn't unlawful. on the different hand, in case you acquire copywrited fabric from Limewire or everywhere else for that be counted, this is truly unlawful.

i have limewire and when you get it the agreement says you can download songs put you cant put those songs on other sites

The P2P file sharing technology is still a controversial topic because of what the technology can do that users tend to abuse it. My word of advice share files with express permission from the owner. Don't share what you do not own or has no permission of.
