Lead isn't going to hurt you if you don't eat it, breathe it, or get shot. Do you think fishermen die of lead poisoning from handling lead sinkers or mechanics die of lead poisoning from touching lead wheel weights? Millions of parents, grandparents and great grandparents got along just fine, playing with their lead soldiers as children. That's because people used to be smarter. They didn't put toys in their mouths or lick the lead paint that used to cover every damned wall in America (including the house I grew up in), OR, they had parents that weren't so self-absorbed that they don't see their kids doing these things.

Most electronics contain some lead. However the amount of lead you are exposed to is minimal, and not very likely to cause any harm.
This paranoia comes from California;s warning labels, where if there is even the slightest trace amount of lead you must declare it on a warning label.
So even those items that don't contain lead, they might so they have to state a warning just in case.
So Yes, waring gloes is really being overly cautions.

Only if they came from China. Many of their products are made with inferior grade materials (such as paint with lead). Their quality control is actually very scary. What makes it into our countries is also scary. If it was made in the US, no need to worry.
