Now that the debate over illegal immigration is heating up again, I believe it’s time for someone to say what others may be afraid to for fear of being labeled racist.
I am sick and tired of being made to feel guilty because I am of white European heritage. We have just as much of an obligation to preserve our heritage for our children as does any illegal immigrant.
It’s time that we let potential immigrants know that we speak English here and America has laws that everyone must abide by. We should not have to bend over backward to adapt to another culture; they need to adapt to ours. If these issues are impossible for you to deal with, then by all means return to your homeland.
Americans also need to wake up to the real cost of illegal immigration. Here are some facts from the Government Accountability Office as well as Census Bureau data: In 2005, the G.A.O. looked at 55,000 illegals with criminal records and found they had been arrested an average of eight times. Forty-five percent were for immigration and drug charges while 12 percent were for violent crimes. Illegals represent 3 percent of the U.S. population while they make up 4.5 percent of the U.S. prison population. This goes to show that we have no idea who is coming across our borders when immigration is not controlled.
The Census Bureau in 2002 found that households of illegal immigrants paid $16 billion in taxes yet imposed more than $26.3 billion in costs to the federal government. That’s a deficit of almost $10.4 billion. Guess who foots the bill?
They drain our economy by sending millions to their homeland. They will not sign up for military service, either. They are here to take advantage of our system and that’s all.
More punishment needed

Your absolutely correct and we also need to stop being passive about Muslim fanatical actions, they must be dealt with now they are like a Hydra with ten heads and non of them tolerate the West. They are unreasonable and pushing religious dogma not human rights as their criteria for existance! They remain in a religious frenzie unable to see or hear logic and realize it's 2007 and people walk on space stations! They don't need to remain in tents cooking camel dung and making weird noises hating all the "infidels"

I'm not afraid to call you a racist.
There is no other way to explain how you could hate to be around people with culture different than your own. Is it honestly that big of a burden for you when by chance one of the people who cooks your food, works in your fields, does all the work that you would hate to do might not speak your language as well as you like, and you have to wait 5 seconds for them to get someone else for you? Do you not think that it is unimaginably worse for these people who are completely surrounded by people, like you, who do not speak their language? These people forced to emigrate[sic] from Mexico because treaties like NAFTA destroyed their work opportunities at home. Why don't you take a second to address the actual problems here instead of just griping about how you don't like to be in contact with spanish speakers.
Your numbers don't show anything either. Illegals make up disproportionately 1.5 percent more of the prison population. That's not really surprising when you think about how the entire border and surrounding towns where immigrants are likely to be have an enormously higher law enforcement presence. You obviously have a better chance of being arrested for something when there are police everywhere and particularly on the lookout for "illegals".
Your numbers about the supposed "leaching" of undocumented immigrants on our social service system doesn't prove anything either. If all immigrants were granted citizenship, they they would be paying fairly into government programs like the rest of us. You can't pay things like income tax when you don't even have a right to exist in our (previously their) country. If people could freely become citizens, their family would be able to come with them and they would not need to send money back across the border.

For all the immigration to the U.S. from other countries, this is the first generation that has had to press 1 for English. That says volumes.

I agree completely. But I don't feel guilty or apologize for being white or American. We shouldn't have to press #1 for English! This is America not some third world country!
The best thing we can do is vote someone into office who will put an end to this pandering, politically correct, left wing causes and do what is right for America and Americans!

Well said. I couldn't agree more. If you come here than be an American. Not a Chinese, Hispanic, Russian, what ever other hyphenated American. Learn the language. English! Flying the American Flag. Not that of your country of origin.

You are preaching to the choir with me!
It's funny how certain people label us 'racist' when we just want to keep our culture and heritage intact
I thought my city (Burbank,CA) was preserved but saturday i
could hear spanish in every corner of its mall, it is turning into Mexico as well
I 'm afraid in 25 years or sooner Anglos and Europeans will massively leave California, the state will be sold or annexed to Mexico.
