Personal gain has nothing to do with it. If an officer was committing crimes and victimizing people I would because I swore I would. When you become a police officer you take an oath. You give your word on your honor that you will do what is right and in exchange, the public trusts you with a badge and gun and allows you to take people's freedom in the common goal of making this place a better place. Bad cops don't deserve to work for us (the public). Of course I'd turn someone in.

You're asking if i would turn in a fellow police officer so i can move ahead of him on the promotion chart, correct? It would have nothing to do with any kind of personal gain, i took an oath to uphold the law no matter the circumstances. If that means taking my grandma to jail for DWI, arresting my brother for possesion, or even turning in another officer, then so be it.

Depending ont he violation I wouldn't have a problem reporting them.

As for personal gain, in this profession nothing is for personal gain, except my paycheck.

It depends on what you mean by "Report"? Personal gain would have nothing to do with it regardless.

It is EXTREMELY rare that a cop will have the balls to report another cop, but it does happen occasionally.
Normally, they just help their buddies get away with it.
