We are putting impact indicators on our hasselblads at our rental facility, and the ones listed at mcmaster-carr are categorized by g-force sensitivity. on the items that are for single use, the items from 0-10 lbs have a default of 100 G, and i am wanting the resettable ones. does anyone know what i should get for a hasselblad camera. they are under 10lbs. i dont want it to be too sensitive so that we have to investigate when someone just bumps up aginst something.. but i need to know when an item is dropped. any suggestions?

you can see for yourself on:

The problem I see is that the resettable ones only measure in one direction so unless you mount three on different faces of the camera, you will be committed to one direction, probably on the bottom for a direct drop. And those don't have a weight associated with them (I am not sure what the weight has to do with it, actually.)
You are going to have to buy a 5G and a 10G, put them on a camera or a similar weight and see if they trip at what you consider a risk (like 4 feet to concrete, 8 feet to carpeted wood)
In order to get all three directions, you are probably going to have to get something like the Hobo data logger These cost a lot more. see here

IMpact loads are not just from gravity. Although you will have an impact if you drop the camera, you can have as bad or worse impacts from things like a car crash. It all has to do with kinetic energy and mass. A force of 100 gram can come from a static load of 100 g mass due to gravity or from a 10 g mass travelling at a slow speed or a 1 g mass traveling at higher speed or a 0.001 g mass traveling at high speed. Time to do a little physics. good luck

well, read this it will be helpful. its like a story of using different examples.

BATTLE OF THE PLANETS/G-FORCE:
The anime series, Gatchaman, was dubbed in English twice by two different production
companies. The first version is called "Battle of the Planets" and the second is
"G-Force." Both use about the same episodes of Gatchaman but in each series the
characters names and some plot elements are different. The third series, called "Eagle
Riders", dubs various episodes from the sequels to Gatchaman, Gatchaman II and
Gatchaman F.

GATCHAMAN SUMMARY:
Ken, Joe, Jun, Jinpei and Ryu are members of Science Ninja Team Gatchaman, a group of
teenagers that fight off alien invaders led by Berg Katse and Sosai of the Galactor
organization. The Gatchaman team are advised by Dr. Nambu.

BATTLE OF THE PLANETS SUMMARY:
Mark, Jason, Princess, Keyop and Tiny are members of the G-Force team, a group of
teenagers that fight off alien invaders led by Zoltar and the Great Spirit from the evil
Planet Spectra. G-Force is advised by Chief Andersen. Battle of the Planets was the
first English dub of Gatchaman, but was very different than the original. Because of
children's television standards at the time, mostly all of the fighting scenes, violence
and death were cut. Many other scenes were also cut and replaced with US animated scenes
of 7-Zark-7, a robot who narrates each episode and communicates with G-Force. Also,
since Star Wars was out at the time, Battle of the Planets played on the space and aliens
aspect. Many adventures took G-Force to other planets when in Gatchaman they fought all
their battles on Earth. Plus Keyop could only speak a few words. Battle of the Planets
also skipped many episodes, including the last four due to the violence and death in
them. Battle of the Planets aired in syndication from 1978 until 1982 and introduced
many to the world of anime.

i work on a dock full of freight and i see these indicators pretty often. if it's based on G's, just brushing up against it won't do anything.

they make different ones for different amounts of G's. the link you have didn't show what you're explaining.

if you need anything else, contact me.
