I'm an atheist, but I don't see why that should stop me from worshiping something I have the utmost awe and reverence for, and something I believe we could not live without. I mean... just look at this picture! Amazing!

Now let me be clear I don't intend to worship it as a god, I still remain firm in my belief that the sun is just a giant nuclear reactor.
In fact there would be no rituals, dogma, tithe or anything like that, all I'm saying is give credit where credit is due.

once you start worshiping anything, your no longer an atheist. The worship of any object or demigod is your choice and if it makes feel better about the universe then so be it. At times I find my turds amazing, how could such a thing comeout from inside me, but I dont worship it.

Believe it or not the sun is lesser than you...God loves you more than the sun. It is a creation just like you, except you are more precious than it!

I don't think you should.... yes the sun is a beautiful and amazing thing like some other on this earth. there is no need to worship it... but be greatful for it... instead give thanks to it's Creator God... why is it easy for you to want to worship that and not God.

It's funny you ask that.... I believe in God and in fact consider the sun God. People think I'm crazy for thinking that way but I figure I'm no more crazy than those who Believe in a God they have never seen before. To much points to the Sun being god in my opinion. Anyways... If your serious about feeling that way Then I say do what feels right.

Take up meditation and use the sun as your focusing device, Do some sort of dance to the sun, good exercise.
