If during the physical, they determine you need surgery, your out until you get it done. That is why they do physicals.

No I do not think so, the Marines are very particular about who they will let join. You're best bet would be to call and talk to a marine recruiter. Have you thought about joining the Army? They have much better benefits than any other branch of service and are usually not as picky about things like that. They also offer just as many if not more career options.

You don't say what sort of surgery and what it is intended to correct. But, if it's refractive surgery and it's done before you enlist, it will be disqualifying if six months has not passed since the surgery.
