I need to write a poem/song about the journey of an Irishman from Ireland to America during the Industrial Revolution, and I don't know where to begin. If someone could tell me a little about what that journey might have been like, I'd be very greatful!

You'd be best doing your own research, not asking someone to give you all the answers. Its obvious that your teacher's intent with this assignment is for you to do some reading and research, two skills that are very necessary in life. On top of that, it is important to understand something of the history of the U.S., and the various waves of immigration.

I'll help you a little... these sights have good information:

Good luck. You might think I'm being harsh, but you'll thank me later. Years from now you'll understand the importance of doing it the hard way.
