Absolutely. That is one of the symptoms of depression. You have no desires, no wants. Nothing moves you. You feel you have nothing to aspire to.
Which is sadder? Not having something you want or having everything you wanted and found that it didnt fix you.

I believe that's a true statement. I believe that unhappiness comes from wanting something you cannot have. Therefore, if one doesn't feel like one is missing anything, it's not possible to be unhappy.

This is for those out there that keep repeating the Buddhist Beliefs. It would be inconceivable to live without wanting. To achieve that Peace is Wanting!

As stated above, the Tao says all pain comes from desire.
Similarly, The Old Testament says, avarice is the root of evil.
So, I think you would be on to something.

Sure. For example, you climb mountains but always look forward to the bigger one. Then one day you are standing on Mt Everest and feel emptiness realizing there is no bigger mountain for you to climb.
