Ok. I took a look at your past questions and see that you are into sports. If you are still in NYC on the 26th of January, you might want to check out the Gotham Martial Arts Tournament. Its on the 26th and 27th in Manhattan.

Try out and be a judge and have fun. :-)

I'll talk to friends and associates and see if something is closer to the 22nd and add it to the calendar below.

Hope that helps,

Steve

If you like shopping, go to Barney's. It's amazing around Christmas time, the energy is amazing, and the clothes are always the warmest and comfortablest ever. =) Stay a night or two at the Tribeca Star (I love Tribeca, best part of the city in my opinion. It's also where I live). Ohoh - you can also eat at Jekyl and Hyde - okay it's childish but it's superfun and cute haha. Don't bother going to the top of the empire state building or the statue of liberty - wayyy to touristy and crowded and overrated! Or take a walk around the riverside in Tribeca at night - you have a view of Jersey city on the other side and it gleaming on the water is soo pretty.
Eventwise - Ice skating in Bryant Park will be free (you just have to pay to rent skates) . Better then skating at central park, which can be waayy too crowded.
Also, I don't think you should bother with muesems. Maybe MOMA, if you really must. If you go to NYC, you really should look at NYC, you know?
Here's a list of bars - if you go to NYC, you gotta meet new fun people. =)

Get a guidebook on NYC at the library to get an idea of the "touristy" things to do, if you've never been to New York.

Or try Fodor's or Frommer's on-line. CityPass.com has tickets that include several different sights.

A neat, free thing to do is to take the Staten Island Ferry [be sure and bundle up in January!!]. It goes past the Statue of Liberty and gives a great view of the skyline. [Take the ferry over to SI, get off and get right back on.]
