I've made a fab pork casserole this evening and want to freeze what I have left. I've poured it into some ice-cream tubs but it still feels a bit warm.

How cool should it be when I put it in the freezer?

room temperature, worse thing is pork and chicken but that in the fridge even warm and you will be spewing your ring peace the next time you eat it.

well if you put in in the freezer too hot then it will bring down the temp of the freezer and everything else will begin to thaw... i made this mistake before... leave it out for another 1/2 hour or so... it will cool faster if you have it in a short wide dish rather than tall and deep.... i used to put the food out in the cold covered of course......

Cold. If there is any feeling of warmth to it it will raise the temperature of the freezer and other food with it. This is not good either for the other food or freezer.

Put it in right away. It won't hurt a thing. Some people think you have to completely cool things off before putting it in the frig, but all that does, is give bacteria a chance to grow.
