No. Let them deal with it.
Personally, I feel like policemen who commit crimes should be punished more than the other criminals. They are put into positions of power, respect, authority, and responsibility. If a cop commits the actions of a criminal, then he did it from a position of higher standards, and therefore the sentences should be worse.
Furthermore, every arrest that cop ever made should come under review.

if you have been a police officer for twenty years lets say, you break the law, get caught and go to prison. all the people you arrested over the period of those 20 years are there with you, what do you think they are going to do to you? the other prisoners are not fond of police. so, if a former cop is in jail....what happens, you think about it.then you have answered your own question.

Any law enforcement person that is incarcerated is placed in Ad Seq. This is not preferential treatment. They actually have less rights and activities then general population inmates, including less out of the cell time, less phone time, less canteen, and less visits. This is done to keep them alive. The prison system is charged with keeping all inmates safe.

Alot of different people are segregated in there. Its not just for the safety of the prisoners, but for the overall management of the whole system. Besides, how often are police officers arrested and imprisoned anyway???

If there is a specific reason that an inmate needs to be separated (safety, etc.) then they should be, no matter what the inmates former occupation was.

Police officers should get no special treatment, better or worse, than other inmates after they are convicted.

No.

They swore an oath to uphold the law. When they broke the law, they broke the oath.

If they get killed in prison, so be it. Maybe it would set a better example to other (potentially corrupt) police officers to follow their oath or face the wrath of the general prison population.

I'm with you.

The military does a similar thing with commissioned officers. They are imprisoned separately from lowly enlisted members, unless they waive the privilege.

Sorry...if you're in the stockade, all bets are off.

Nope, because they abused their power. Why should they get special treatment when they got it for their entire careers. Most of them are assholes anyway.

Put them with the other criminals. Let them be enlightened.
