Or should I try to get her to stop? I don't care about the cardboard but I'm concerned that this will start a bad chewing habit.

She definatly doesn't eat it. Just shreds it all over the floor! She has a bunch of toys but I guess likes something about the cardboard. I'll look into getting her some different toys. She is 4 months old too, must be the age?

Your kitty is probably just teething. I have a kitten who is about four months old and he chews on everything. Especially anything paper. I'm pretty sure its just a phase. None of my other cats chew on things like that. Yours will probably grow out of it like mine will. You might want to get her something else to chew on like some kind of toy.

One of my cats is insane about cardboard. Even now at 1.5 yrs old. Claws it, chews it, sits on it, sleeps on it. She's never gotten sick from it but I don't think she injests much, she just makes a mess. Just make sure it's plain cardboard, not colored like shoe boxes, because that has lots of dyes that could make her sick.

I think its okay about the chewing part but if your cat swallows it don't let your cat chew on the cardboard anymore.

Yes, it's probably a teething thing. Our kitten used to LOVE to simply put his teeth through cardboard. And cellophane. He was a strange kitten!
