Do you think that Nascar would be more interesting if it had a salary cap like in the NFL? It would be more competitive and it would give other drivers than the ones who are associated with Rousch or Hendrick or Childress or any other big team a chance to be in it for the championship.

The salary cap would be one more thing the "haves" would screw around with and find a loophole to work around it.
Personally, I don't think it's really helped the other sports much.

I don't see where salary cap has helped in the NFL. For example, are the Dolphins, Chiefs, Niners or Raiders on a competitive level with the Cowboys or Patriots? Would you sit through an entire game between the Dolphins and the Patriots? Most people wouldn't.
There are always ways to get the best players/drivers the most $$ through incentives, endorsements, etc. The Cowboys are a key example of this.
Salary cap has not been the answer as far as establishing parity in the NFL, and it wouldn't be in NASCAR either.

No. Why would they do that and how could that possibly help competition. They get a base salary from the car owner which is a poultry sum compared to what NFL player's make. They then have to go out and race for there money.
They make money from merchandising but only the most popular drivers make good money from that.

A salary cap would kill NASCAR. Why would one sponsor pay more than another if they weren't going to see a return on their investment? If you want to make it easier why don't we let the pit crew take their time working on the cars and you can no longer gain positions under caution? Sound dumb? Hell yea, that would be just as dumb as putting a salary cap on the teams.

No Because the Premier Race Drivers would still be with the Premier Teams and Still make the Chase. For example if Gordon Left HMS>RCR already a Chase team would Pick him up and drop Hamlin or Burton. If Tony Stewart left JGR> Roush already a Chase Team would Pick him Up and drop off McMurray. If Kennseth left Roush>Penske already a Chase Team would pick him up and drop off Newman and so on and on!!!!!

Sure would help the sponsorship issues.
The limited of the number of cars that a owner has is suppose to be a step that direction.
The C O T is also to be a step in the limiting of cost.

Do I think? not at all... Because NASCAR is right here, and the NFL is... well, it's way down yonder, and we don't have time to sit around and wait in between "plays"
