We have some extended family that we are seeing during the holidays and they are just stuffy, snobby, egotistical jerks. We have to see them for ONE day during the holidays. . how can we deal with them and their 'not so nice' remarks???

My first suggestion is to not deal with them. But if you don't have a say in the matter and must go, then beyond the expected pleasantries, I suggest ignoring them. (Yes, easier said than done. I have a few jerks in my extended family, too.) People who make rude remarks do it to get a reaction. If you don't provide that reaction, you've taken the fun from them. Good luck getting through that one day you have to spend with them and don't let them ruin your holiday.

Don't deal with them I see none of my family unless I really want to. I feel no obligation to any one I know for a fact are going to berate me or even simply attempt to act better then me.

I have a brother & wife who do this & this year I am sending my exchange gift to their house through my son. when the family gathers!

if it were at my parents home I would go & just ignore them!

When they're trying to put you down, or being snobby, smile VERY NICELY at them, and laugh kindly, as though they're a small child who's said something very silly.
They won't be able to deal with it, you will have won (every point) and they'll disappear for another year leaving you to chuckle with the rest of your family about them.
So, deep breath, and .......SMILE...............(they'll HATE it)

Look at them long and hard, shake your head and say "Wow." Then walk away, shaking your head and say "Unbelievable." Drvies 'em nuts...

Call them on their rudeness and tell them it's not appreciated. Be direct about what is unacceptable and likely they'll shut it.
