A relative is being evaluated in order to see if she competetant to stand trial. It is her first offence and its a misdemeanor crime. Her mom has guardianship of her also. Her lawyer says most likely the charges will be dismissed but I am still worried. What do u think??

I think that there is no information in your question about what mental illness your relative may have.

I think that if it can be shown that, at the time of the crime, your relative was unable to know that what he or she was doing was wrong, then the charges may get dismissed...
