There are conflicting polls on that one. I the case of my parents I am guessing they would have picked Atheist because they reacted well when I came out as one with them. They are still very homophobic. One of these days I will introduce them to a few of my gay and lesbian friends and break them of that too.

I'm both. :P
But I'm sure my parents would rather me be gay. At least, according to them, I'd have God in my life and had a chance to be "cured" of my "sin".

Insulting small minded question . It is the same if you asked an Atheist if he would rather his child be tall or Lutheran .

It's better to be gay or atheist or both (neither are specifically mentioned in the Bible) than a fundamentalist with a closed mind. After all gays or atheists may go to heaven, but not someone who distorts the word of God in order to exercise power over others....

I would rather choose my child to be gay rather than to be an atheist. Being a gay is not a sin itself. But atheism is a mortal SIN. It is a rejection to the existance of GOD.

ecterbob had an excellent answer. That's what all Christians should be like, I wouldn't dislike them so much.

Where is Francine when you need her?
