The essence of Spirituality is The Answer, The Way, The Divine, The Sacred, The Truth, it is Love. Love is inclusive of all that is good, It includes honor, worship & respect. Our Spirituality is our Divine Right; of which Love sets the tone of Reality.
Your Spiritual Path, Destiny & Planetary Shift is the movement toward un-conditional Love.

The essence of Spirituality is to know One Self, to know God, and to know that we are all expressing God.
We are forever changing, growing, expressing, so knowing your true Self is a life long experience!
Essential to ones Spirituality is to have a daily Spiritual practice, at least for me. For me this includes, some daily reading, journaling, meditation and journaling are others that I do most days that keep me connected to my higher being. Nature and being with animals does it too. Expressing our individual God-Self is the Spiritual path.

Sam K has a nice answer. I'm not sure I can do much better than that, but here goes.
I'd define spirituality as "direct contact with reality."
Anybody who has experienced any true "spiritual state" - with all due emphasis on the word "true" - knows that its relation to normal life is like that of normal life to a dream. You can argue with him that his experience is just a "delusion," but his honest reply is that if it is, then so must be everything else. In fact, at the end of the day, our sole gauge of the reality of anything is its rank in the hierarchy of the mind.

Spirituality, as I understand it, draws more from emotional experience than it does concrete beliefs or thoughts.
Some people FEEL this when they're praying or in church or reading the Bible, I assume.
I feel more connected to something spiritual when I'm in nature, getting exercise, thinking about pleasant memories, and spending time with people I love. This feeling is something I can only really describe as spiritual, and it has nothing to do with organized religion.

I am not a great fan of the term "spirituality". It implies the contracts between spirit and flesh or spirit and matter. Being a materialist, I do not believe in spirit.
Therefore, for all its inadequacies, I like the term religion. For me it implies a sociological relationship with other human beings. A view of the whole and how I relate to the whole. This is not spiritual, but it is emotional.

For me, spirituality is me trying to understand and get in touch with a larger part of myself. I keep it in the perspective that we are all one which makes my daily life better since I can interact with others on a more understanding level.

The word finds history among the southern blacks in song and often refers to the inner man. I would be in agreement with it being the inner man. Like an m&m. It's all about the soft chocolate on the inside. mmm....I'm think I'm getting hungry.lol

That people are willing to believe in a lot of crap as long as they think they get a shot at some form of eternal life and/or an ultimate "meaning" to life.
