Yea bro. I know exactly what you are saying. I love the spirit of Christmas and such. The warm feeling and family during the Holidays. I guess because everyone is rushing to make the year perfect before it's all over. Shopping, planing, etc. Just be happy and work and try to make the best of it.

I don't get depressed about the holidays but my SO does every year after seeing his family. They have no Christmas spirit, no religious affiliation and it's not much of a celebration.
My family is totally different, we don't worry over presents, it's about getting together, celebrating the birth of Christ, which usually includes midnight mass and basically just having alot of fun.
My SO tells me that seeing the difference in how his family celebrates as opposed to mine is what depresses him. I don't even remember being wished a Merry Christmas at his families get togethers. The whole atmosphere is depressing and I'm always relieved when it's over and we can get back to my parents place and enjoy the holidays the way they were meant to be enjoyed.

I get depressed because I hate seeing all of the Christmas stuff in stores right after Thanksgiving, wanting you to spend all of your money. Then you have all of the TV commercials telling your kids that they need the most expensive hard to find toys. It makes me want to throw out the tv.
We try to show our kids' the true meaning of the holiday and to be happy with what they get, but it's kind of hard when the same Santa that gets your kids 6 presents each, gets the kids down the street 50. How do you explain that?

its like kids with a new toy you go all out then once your stuffed drunk and unfit you sit there and wonder what to do next and so end up depressed
thanks to the media and commercialism the true meaning has been forgotten now its buy this drink that and get into debt
gone are the show a bit of goodwill to all of mankind days
people would rather roll or stab a homeless person rather than invite them in for a meal or give them some clothes

People often dream up an idealized version of how Christmas (or whatever) should be like. ...And when that fantasy version does not come true, they feel they didn't get that fantasy version because they themselves are flawed or something.
For me any holiday is a time when I can look forward to spending time with my husband and daughter, and we do NOT have to spend lots of money to be happy. We go to a movie (or rent one), cook a nice meal, and just hang out and play games, etc.

I think people get depressed after the holidays because the cheery, happy season is all of the sudden over. It's time to go back to work, school and our everyday boring lives.

Food, partying, and Jesus's birthday just seem to go really well together. I never feel depressed after the holidays.

there replaced right into a time while the vacations did get me down, it replaced right into a time earlier i replaced into married and have been given my relatives, i think of the vacations get human beings down using loneliness, once you have not got somebody to share the days with this is complicated to get by way of them, fairly while there are an excellent type of others around with relatives, yet what i could tell a individual in temper or that way is to "merely take it sooner or later at a time" And continually remember there is often somebody else in this international plenty much less sadder than your self.... stay candy & stable Merry Chirstmas.....
