"we share the truth about Christ because we love others, we do not love others in order to share Christ." I think it explains the heart of every true Christian- my Pastor said this in his sermon last sunday, and it stuck with me

Kat- I totally agree with you that when we share the truth it must be done in love, and the best way I know how to do that is to share what Jesus did in my life, and how He changed me.

tuberoot- I would never not talk about the love of God- but when we love the Lord our God, with all our heart, mind soul and strength we learn to love others.

Squeaky- I am sorry that you have never really seen and heard how Christ has changed the person who is sharing with you- email me if you want to talk about the truth, and I promise I will not judge you- because it is not me that can change anyone, only He can- the proof is ME

Country boy- I agree 100%. We cannot force belief on anyone- besides it is no us who can convert anyone, it is the Holy Spirit

Krystal- I think I understand what you are saying here, but I also have to share one more thing- if our only reason for loving someone is to share Christ, I think our motives are wrong- because if that person chooses not to accept Christ will our love stay strong? If we are not loving the person first, why would they?

also Krystal if you read the quote again, it lines up to your last statement- we must love others first, not share and the learn to love them

Rom 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

It's quite obvious that your pastor has been reading his Bible.

On another note it seems from a few of the respondents above me that you are in fact reaching the lost. Very good.

I discover Steven Wright charges humorous. Here are a couple of of them I located on-line. “Last 12 months I went fishing with Salvador Dali. He was once making use of a dotted line. He stuck each different fish.” “All people who think in psychokinesis elevate my hand.” “OK, so what is the pace of darkish?” “How do you inform whilst you are out of invisible ink?” “Support micro organism - they are the one tradition a few humans have.” “My condominium was once robbed and the whole thing was once changed with designated replicas...I informed my roommate and he stated 'Do I recognize you?'” “Yesterday I informed a bird to pass the street. It stated, "What for?"” “I Xeroxed my watch. Now I have time to spare.” “I placed immediate espresso in a microwave oven and close to went again in time.” “I wrote a track, however I can not learn song so I have no idea what it it. Every as soon as in a whilst I'll be paying attention to the radio and I say, ‘I suppose I could have written that’.” “I mounted a skylight in my condominium...The humans who are living above me are livid!” “My apartment is at the median strip of a freeway. You do not particularly detect, besides I need to go away the driveway doing 60 MPH.” “I purchased a self finding out list to be trained Spanish. I became it on and went to sleep; the list obtained caught. The subsequent day I might best stutter in Spanish.” “I spilled spot remover on my puppy. He's long gone now.”

Sometimes I think you have to Love others through their disbelief in order to share Christ with them. I don't necessarily agree with what your pastor is saying. I think it goes both ways. I have been brought up in the church all my life and have read the Bible many many times, and I have to say In order to share Christ with them we have to love them. Love is not an emotion alone. It is actions. Read 1 Cor 13. This is a very tricky saying. It takes a lot of thought. I think we do both things. Sometimes we share Christ because we love others and sometimes we love other so that we can share Christ with them. Just remember this: just because someone is in a position of authority it doesn't make them perfect or always right. You need to research this and decide what you think on your own. This is just one opinion of many I am sure.
But in my experience there have been people that needed to feel loved before they were willing to have Christ shared with them.

I think it's a great quote.
And I think it is really sad how many people are getting all upset over it too, or saying that it's a load of crap. That's so nice of them to paint all Christians with the same black brush just because they have met some who are jerks. Nice and judgmental, which is EXACTLY what they condemn us as being. Irony anyone?

I think that there is some truth to it. But when I see the focus swaying from God first I wonder about things like that. I think we do it because we love God, and His Spirit tells us what to do. That's called 'doing His commandments.' It's the interaction of the believer with the God of Life and Light. Those around us benefit because God fills us with His Spirit, who teaches us to do His will, including love.

"we share the truth about Christ because we love others..."
Im going to go out on a limb here and suggest that is very possibly a humongous pile of horse hockey.. at least in my opinion. I have met many more "believers" who would rather send me to hell without passing go or collecting my $200 simply because I love someone of the same gender. They havent really done a lot of "sharing".... unless you count sharing their hate with me and my kind.

Share Christ with those who want to know about Jesus, those who don't shake the dust off your feet while leaving and their blood is in their own hands.

Very good!
I understand its meaning.
Some people may want to psycho-analyze it to pieces.
But its meaning is simple.
And that's the way I like it.
God bless you today!
