Sounds like you have a major infection:

No antivirus or antispyware protection is perfect but a good mixture of the two will help you clean your system and hopefully keep it clean.

First of all update and run your own anti virus & anti spyware applications.

Next download, update and run a full scan using the following product:
http://www.superantispyware.com/
SuperAntiSpyware will remove the majority of difficult Trojans not just the easy ones.

If possible it is recommended that you load the application in normal mode but run it in Safe Mode. Safe Mode can be started by continually pressing F8 during the boot sequence. However, if you are badly infected you might need to run SuperAntiSpyware more than once to help clean your system. If the only infections now being shown are in System Restore, once you are completely satisfied that you can boot normally, you can either delete the infected restore points manually, or temporarily turn off System Restore.

In addition I suggest you download, update & run Avira. Unlike a lot of the free antivirus applications this will give you real time protection and is very quick to load at boot up.
http://www.avira.com

Assuming you have some real awkward infections and the suggestions above failed to finally clean your system I suggest you download a Smitfraud removal program from:
http://www.afterdawn.com/software/desktop_software/desktop_security/smitfraudfix.cfm
Again if possible run in Safe Mode.

Be advised that some infections will corrupt or disable your resident security products so for completeness I have listed a few online scans that may help you:
Norton - http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/defau...
Panda - http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/Ac...
Trend - http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Good luck & safe surfing.

you either have:
1. A virus which has seriously messed up your comp.
2. Your computer isn't clean ( inside the case and in hard drive)
3. You put something on there like a driver and or program and it happened to crash because it conflicted or it was not for the current system, because of this one it just happended to be that your comp lost a few files and went haywire.
Anyway, click on the desktop --> press F1---> "Undo changes with system restore" is on that page and walla.
If that doesn't work then depending on your computer you may be able o get a restore CD. ( I have one that puts my computer back to the way I first bough with application ect!)
Thats about all you can do otherwise get a can of petrol and a cigrette lighter and say goodbye

Sounds like it could be a virus,
or it could just be that you've changed a setting and its all spacked up,
You could try pressing F8 repeatedly when you turn on your computer then choose "boot to last known good configuration" (I'm not sure of the exact wording of it but it is something like that)
If it is a virus then run a virus scanner or something (I'm not sure about viruses so i cant really say much about them)
if that doesn't work then it looks like you will have to reinstall the entire operating system

This is called the Blue Screen of Death. Most likely your computer is infected with a nasty malware.

So I am guessing that you have no anti virus or anti spyware protection or that they are out of date because the subscription ran out.

Can you get it to boot at all?
If so go to www.pctools.com
and download Spyware Doctor with Antivirus
This will remove the malware and other bad things infecting you PC.

If you can't boot. There are other things you can try but you may need to reload the OS.

Best bet would be to pop in your restore disk and let it run. If you want you could use the f8 key on boot and go into safe mode and try to find a compatible audio driver. However I bet you downloaded something and it has your PC goofed all up and a restore might be the easiest and cheapest way to recover.

Try booting in Safe mode. When yo turn off computer, turn back on and continuosly hit f8. It will pop up screen and should say on there to boot in safe mode. Do that and try and run a virus scan.

I suggest going through system recovery through your OS. Your computer may have a number of problems, but it's hard to pin down w/o being there first hand.
