what can i use instead of the onion stuff you put on top?

In a pinch, you could add:

Bacon Bits

Crushed Potato Chips

Crushed Ritz crackers mixed with melter butter

Seasoned Bread Crumbs

Crushed Croutons

There are a few ideas for ya......Hope it works out for you....Enjoy!!!

You can just put breadcrumbs on top- or crushed ritz crackers or crushed potato chips. I wouldn't mix that into the recipe like you do with the onions.

buttered crackers and crunch them up somewhat and some onion powder.

use croutons all smashed up or better yet, bread crumbs... i switch the soup to use... i use cheddar cheese soup by campbells instead!!! MMMMMMMMMMMM
