Alright,,,, I'm assuming you've already purchased your tickets via NWA.com and have a confimation number printed out and stuff like that.

That pretty much means you're already guaranteed a seat and all you have to do is go to the airport and check in. A few hours before departure,,, go out to the airport where your flight'll be departing and go up to the desk area at the recieving area of the terminal to extract your tickets..

Then you go through the TSA... Make sure you don't have big bottles of liquids in your carry on luggage coz they'll take it away. It'll all be posted right before you get in line, so make sure you pay attention to everything when you're there.

Once you get in,, go to the area with lots of TV's with names and numbers listed in it... That's where you find out which gate you're gonna go into via your light number and destination. Go to the gate area,,, and wait there. Dont worry about getting to your gate coz there'll be signs everywhere telling you where to go.

Best thing to do if you're not sure is to ask people... Don't be scared or ashamed to ask what to do or where to go. They know you're new. Besides,, you won't be the only first time flyer out there.. There are tons of people flying for the first time.

Go out there and have some fun.. Flying is not that hard. It's quite fun actually. Just follow the rules. If unsure,,, ASK.

I hope this helps you out... Have a great day and God Bless

It may vary slightly by the airport. Some because of size, some have different domestic and international travel rules.

Arrive early. You start at the dispatchers level. Most of the time you will be dropped off right there, as all buses, taxis and personal drop-offs go there. So, keep an eye out for your airline, and go to the check in counter. This is a maze and confusion of lines. They generally have someone directing people who you can ask questions. There are generally going to be 3 types of lines - first class, automated line and the main line. The automated line has a self use computer that will print your boarding cards and then go to the attendant to check your luggage. The main line, the attendant prints your boarding cards and checks your bags. The automated one can be a lot faster, unless there is any sort of complication to your flight.

Then you go to the area they tell you where your deparcher gate is. There will be a line to go through security before you get to that area. After security and arriving at your gate, you sit and wait for the plane to load. They generally start boarding 20 to 30 minutes before departure, and with a 4 year old you usually can load on the first announcement for pre boarding.

well first to get your boarding pass you can print it off on-line depending on the airline. Or when you walk into the airport their are counters for each airline with worker who can get your tickets for you. You can also get it at the curb side check in when you check your bags, if you choose to do so. The guy there can also tell you where to head when you get into the airport. Inside the airport are dozens of television screens that state where your plane is and whether it is on-time, arrived, late, delayed, or canceled. When you get to the security check make sure that you have no open liquids, among other obvious things such as matches, weapons, etc. Also make sure you take of you jacket, shoes, and any metal you have on you. You also need to take a laptop that you might have with you outside of the bag and lay it on a tray. Once you get through security you should proceed to you gate listed on your ticket. There should be plenty of signs that will tell you where to go. The workers at the gate will be more than happy to help you with any questions you might have then.

That is OK. We all learn by asking questions. What I would do is give my check luggage to the sky caps that is on the out side. That is much faster. That is where you can get your boarding pass also. Make sure that you do not have any liquids that is over 3.4 oz in you carry on and it has to be in a plastic zip lock bag. You are allowed to carry on 2 luggage that is like a purse and a small suitcase or a laptop case and a suitcase. I would wear any slip on shoes. When you get to the Security make sure that you remove you jackets and shoes.. etc. Here is a web site that will help you.
Also make sure that you keep your boarding pass out and with you at all times until you make it through the screening checkpoint. Good luck.
