Onlybaby, Jesus (Yeshua) is the Son of God, He was in the beginning with God, through Him all things were made, He is the same with God.
Read the book of Gen. It tells how God said let us make man in our image.
Like the ram in the thicket for Abraham, to stop the sacrifice of Isaac. He has so many likes in the Word, the pillar of fire, or the three brothers who were thrown into the fire and the people saw a forth person in the fire.
Hear O Israel the Lord (1) ur God (2) the Lord (3) is one.
When the Spirit God moved over the face of the deep, God saw that the earth was void & formless ( my mind can't rap around formless) and God spoke the Word (Yeshua), He said
'Let there be light. & there was light, this is before He created the sun or the moon.
The Word was made flash & He lived amoung us.
He is the same in Gen. as He is in the book of the Rev.
He has not changed. No, He would never overthrow His Father, He was obedient to His Father unto death.
By the way He is Hebrew, did u know that?

Worship of the Great I AM is most probably the "Worship in Spirit" that Jesus was preaching.... so you are exactly right. The original principle was never overturned... The Original Gospel was simply replaced by the Pauline gospel of blood for sin.
An emotional gospel replaced the Original Spiritual Gospel that Jesus was actually preaching. The resource below explains the difference between these two gospels.
So you are making an excellent point... right on the money.

If you knew any biblical Hebrew, you'd know that in the original language, "I AM", the name of G-d as He told it to Moses, is YHVH, nowadays Anglicized into "Jehovah".
So your question about "I AM" being thrown over by "Jehovah" is intrinsically a tautology, since they are two renditions of the same word.
P.S. Jews haven't stopped worshiping Ha-Shem, aka "I AM", with or without your permission.

Jehovah is the Great "I Am" and Jesus is His only begotton Son. I am certain that They are not concerned with obtaining your permission for anything. Since you seem to enjoy sarcasm so much, I am just wondering what you are gonna say when you meet Him.
"Every knee SHALL BOW..and every tongue SHALL CONFESS that Jesus is Lord to the glory of God the Father." amen.

Jesus is the great I AM.
Mat 14:27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, Be comforted! I AM! Do not fear.
Mar 14:61 But He was silent and answered nothing. Again the high priest questioned Him, and said to Him, Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?
Mar 14:62 And Jesus said, I AM! And you will see the Son of Man sitting off the right hand of power, and coming with the clouds of the heaven. (Psa. 110:1; Dan. 7:13)
Mar 14:63 And tearing his garments, the high priest said, Why do we still have need of witnesses?
Mar 14:64 You heard the blasphemy. What does it seem to you? And they all adjudged Him liable, even of death.
Joh 4:25 The woman said to Him, I know that Messiah is coming, the One called Christ. When that One comes, He will announce to us all things.
Joh 4:26 Jesus said to her, I AM! the One speaking to you.
Joh 8:58 Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Before Abraham came to be, I AM!

I know a Catholic, very smart, very educated in his faith. He refers to God by both names (I AM and Jesus) in his prayer.
I don't think the concept of the Holy Trinity has come up here. That is the concept that there is one God in three persons: Creator/Father, Word/Son/Jesus, and Holy Spirit.

Exodus chapter 3 explicitly applies "I AM WHAT I AM" to Jehovah God, using the Tetragrammaton ("YHWH") repeatedly.
The increasingly popular "I AM" as a reference to the Judeo-Christian God is an oversimplification with the intention to obfuscate the distinct personages of Jehovah and Jesus. An expression which more accurately approximates the flavor of the original Hebrew is "I Shall Prove To Be What I Shall Prove To Be"; the Almighty is more than a 'snapshot' in time, but an ongoing manifestation of His own ability to do and be anything.
(Exodus 3:13-14) Moses said to the true God: “Suppose I am now come to the sons of Israel and I do say to them, ‘The God of your forefathers has sent me to you,’ and they do say to me, ‘What is his name?’ What shall I say to them?” 14 At this God said to Moses: “I SHALL PROVE TO BE WHAT I SHALL PROVE TO BE.” And he added: “This is what you are to say to the sons of Israel, ‘I SHALL PROVE TO BE has sent me to you.’”
Leeser, “I WILL BE THAT I WILL BE”
Rotherham, “I Will Become whatsoever I please.”
That Exodus 3:14 expression is rich in meaning, but the Scriptures themselves actually include the Divine Name itself nearly 7000 times. The name "Jehovah" is an English translation of the Hebrew name pronounced as or similar to "Yahweh" or "Yehowah"; the exact original pronunciation is unknown. The four Hebrew characters corresponding to the letters "YHWH" are well-recognized as the biblical personal name of Almighty God, and are universally designated as "the Tetragrammaton" or "the Tetragram".
For centuries, most Jews have superstitiously refrained from pronouncing aloud any form of the divine Name. They base that superstition on the third of the Ten Commandments given to Moses:
(Exodus 20:7) You must not take up the name of Jehovah your God in a worthless way
http://watchtower.org/e/bible/ex/chapter_020.htm?bk=Ex;chp=20;vs=7;citation#bk7
Over the centuries, that Jewish superstition has expanded to also forbid writing or engraving any form of "YHWH", even when simply copying from one of the nearly 7000 occurences in the Hebrew Scriptures. In recent centuries, some superstitious Jews have even forbade unabbreviated EUPHEMISMS for "YHWH"; capitalized terms such as "Tetragrammaton" and (amazingly) even "the Name" are forbidden by such superstitions.
More recently, the Jewish superstition has ballooned out of all reasonableness by also forbidding respectful impersonal TERMS referring to the Almighty; thus many Jews insist upon writing "G-d" or "G~d" rather than "God". They may even refrain from capitalizing impersonal terms such as "Creator" and "Almighty".
Naturally, the religious and superstitious practices of a person are between him and his Creator. However, in recent decades these superstitious Jews have worked to impose their superstitious sensibilities beyond their religious communities, and onto the entire populace. Thus, although "YHWH' is unanimously recognized as the personal name of God, few today use any form of it in their writings and conversation.
Interestingly, Christendom has largely joined with superstitious Jews in suppressing the use of "Yahweh" and "Jehovah". However, it seems that Christiandom's anti-YHWH bias largely devolves from their hatred of Jehovah's Witnesses, the religion almost single-handedly responsible for the growing public recognition that the Almighty God of Judaism and Christianity actually does a personal name.
It seems that too many are more interested in coddling superstition than in allowing intellectual honesty and respect for the Almighty.

Interestingly, Encyclopaedia Judaica says that “the avoidance of pronouncing the name YHWH ... was caused by a misunderstanding of the Third Commandment.”

(Psalms 83:18) That people may know that you, whose name is Jehovah, You alone are the Most High over all the earth
(John 17:26) [Jesus said] I have made your name known to them and will make it known, in order that the love with which you loved me may be in them
