any car registered as a 51 or newer must have the bso code and also the suppliers name and postcode at the bottom this can be made as small as possible as it dosnt state what size that info has to be. plain background and proper spacing between the letters some styles of print are illegal best to s

Because your registration documents will reflect the plate number. It's a little more tricky to ensure that the sticker on your plate is the one for your car but a quick check at DMV will prove that also. This answer applies for California and most US States. If you are in another country than perhaps it is different.

If you have put illegal plates on then you should already know. Otherwise the AA can check the legality of a car for you but it will cost

I take it that the number is genuine but the size of the lettering is in doubt. The correct definition and size is given on a Road Traffic Statutory Instrument
