B/c the Chinese people way back then wanted to take over everything so they had a battle with a Tibetan army that was betrayed from the inside. Long story short the Chinese don't want the Dai Lama there b/c they want control of Tibet.
I watched a movie called The Seven Days in Tibet it was very interesting and sad too.

Hmmm.
Zero points for history.
The British forced the DL to flee in around 1904 when they encroached into Tibet for force open trade routes. They entered into non interference agreements with Tibet and China on the proviso that trade remained open, and the DL returned.
The Qing dynasty Emperor then proceeded to effectively annex Tibet in 1910. When the Emperor was overthrown by the Communist Revolution in 1912 the territorial claim remained.
So the DL is in exile because of the British and then a right wing Imperialist invasion. Nothing to do with communism at all.
