I believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the most correct of any religion. I believe the doctrine and practices are closer to the "ideal" religion than any other. Though I believe my church carrys the MOST truth, I would hardly say we have a monopoly on it. There are also a lot of things in other religions and things that people of other religions do that I truly admire.

I believe most religions ultimately came from the same source (God) and that most if not all differences between them come from cultural differences or simply theological evolution.

I don't believe any religion is "evil" since religion is inanimate. Neither can religion be "good" or "wholesome". These are all human qualities and I strongly believe there are people from both categories in all religions.

I believe people are generally good and generally seek to live a life pleasing to their creator (whether they believe in him/her/it or not).

Hello, I am a Latter-day Saint (Mormon) and I have much respect for people of other religions. I may have different beliefs. I may not agree with what other religions teach, but I would never insult another religion especially one that I know nothing of.

I was Catholic for 15 years, I studied for a short while with the Jehova's Witness, and I am still learning about my own LDS faith. I have friends who are Catholic, Agnostic, Atheist, Wiccan, Ex-Mormon, etc... I could care less about their religion. It's what a person does with their time here on earth that matters most.

If I poke fun at anyone of any specific religion... it would be of my own. Because though I love the church and it's teachings, it is true that we Mormons are a little strange and not all Mormons are what they are cracked up to be. Unfortunately there are good and bad people in all religions. And I do understand that there will be many people who do not accept me or my beliefs. And that's okay too.

But can't we all just get along? ;oD

While Mormons certainly disagree with other religions on certain points of theological doctrine, they as a rule respect other religions. One need not agree with others on every point of doctrine to respect them. In a statement made by the first presidency in 1978, the Church proclaimed: "The great religious leaders of the world such as Mohamed, Confucius, and the Reformers, as well as philosophers including Socrates, Plato, and others, received a portion of God's light. Moral truths were given to them by God to enlighten whole nations and to bring a higher level of understanding to individuals."

I think everyone has a right to believe as they will. It isn't my right to judge them because they may believe something different then what I do.

I really do like learning about other religions, and have spent a lot of time doing just that.

Never once in all my time going to church, have I ever heard my church say one bad thing about any other church. That isn't the way we work. God speaks to us all differently, and you have to go with what you feel in your heart is right.

Even those who have left the church I don't look down on. They have to do what they feel is right, and I won't knock them for that belief.

I think that if we can all look at each other and see what we can all learn from each other that this world would be a better place.

As a member of the LDS church, I appreciate the company of people with similar moral values regardless of their religion.

If you attend an LDS church, you will most likely not hear anything about any other church. We spend the majority of the time focusing on the Gospel of Jesus Christ, discussing the scriptures, sharing personal experiences etc.

Doctrinally, as others have pointed out, we believe that everyone should be allowed to worship as they see fit, whether we agree with their beliefs or not.

Hmm reading another question you asked
you said you were an ex mormon?
You can answer that yourself.
We believe any one has their constitutional right
to worship God in their own way
though I don't agree with their doctrine or I would be one
of them. I'm not going to criticize anothers religion.
If you don't have to knowledge to show right or wrong
your religion is, then telling someone else that their relgion is kooky, cultic or something else. that's a losers way to convert
if you use name calling.

Just Read Mike M's post....Just pure bigotry.

Our 11 Article of Faith States-
"We Claim the privilege of worshiping the almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how where or what they may."

We believe that we are the only church that has the entire gospel of Jesus Christ. Most other religions started with the same religion and have some truths, but not all.

We don't denegrade or put down other religions. All people have the right to believe what they choose- that right should never be taken away.

I was raised in the Mormon religion allthough I do not practice any sort of religion now. I do not ever remember hearing my parents or other members say anything bad about other religions. I think Mormons are very tolerant of other religions and their was never any bashing during church meetings.

I have been to other churches that openly bashed Mormons though, during their sermon and in the youth groups and it really makes me wonder if they think they have to do that to get people to go to their church, like they are insecure in their teachings that they have to bash others.

EDIT: Mike M do you actually know what goes on in a Temple ceremony? Or is it based solely on what you read in a book.

My parents were married in the temple and me and my brother and sister were sealed to our parents in the temple nothing weird which some people like to think happens.

Personally? I believe they all have some of the truth, but without the priesthood they don't have it all. I know lots of Independent Baptists and I think they are some the greatest people ever! Even when they are bashing me to H-E double hockey sticks. lol. They are so firm in their beliefs, like us, and happy simple people, from what I can see and are a lot like us...if only they had the true gospel.... gumby summed it up nicely.

I don't know why he ^^^^ put it in quotes. That's not doctrine nor is it anyone I know's opinion. We have an article of faith that states:

11. We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.

I personally believe that *most* religions have at least some truth. Some have more than others but for the most part, they all have some truth. Even ones that do not teach of Jesus Christ teach of a supreme being. We may call Him by different names and have different interpretations of Him, but He is the same person.

EDIT: *sigh* No polygamy. And we DO read the bible. The KJV version just in case you wanted to know.

g4331....you CAN'T walk under the angel Moroni. Nice try though.
