My son is 3 and has 2 small ones. One by his eye and one on his back by his armpit. They got smaller as he got older and were smaller than a dime to begin with. Just watch to see if it gets bigger and have the doctor check it on his monthly check-ups. You just have to watch it. Swelling, more bruised looking, other ones that may develop around the same area, basic things to look for.

My son had a capillary hemangioma. This specific hemangioma is much more dangerous than others located on non critical parts of the body. You only have to be concerned if it obstructs vision or breathing or other critical parts that the baby needs to grow properly. My son's became so serious we had to take action as it was going to seriously affect his vision. Fortunately, it looks like with the help of steroids we were able to subvert further emergency medical procedures. The hemangioma will grow until about 1 year old, from there it reduces in size until completely gone, which might not be until they are 7-10 years old. The other factor to consider is the social implications, if their classmates may make fun of them, but usually its gone by then. Nothing to worry about in my opninon if it is not in a critial area as previously mentioned. Relax. Entiendo mi amiga, no tienes una problema.

My son was born with a hemangioma on his left chest. They can grow larger up to one year of age, and then usually stop growing or shrink as they change in color. Most hemangiomas will disappear completely within the next few years after.
There is most commonly concern for a hemangioma on the face or the genitals due to discomfort and the ability to scratch or irritate the area. A hemangioma is made of blood vessels, so it can bleed a fair amount easily.

The hemangioma should be monitored by her physician, mainly just to check the growth rate.

Most hemangiomas can be safely observed as long as they do not interfere with vision or with breathing. The vast majority of these will resolve spontaneously. But a few grow very aggressively, and should be excised or otherwise treated before they become cosmetically disastrous.

Actually, the "bruising" you refer to may be part of the involution process whereby the hemangioma begins to regress.
