My cat has been using citikitty for a while now. Everytime I took a ring off he would have 2 accidents. Just before thanksgiving I took half a ring off trying to ease him into it more. Now every other day about he poops behind a door. He generally goes behind our bedroom door but has also gone behind the closet door. He will do this regardless of the door being open or shut. There is plenty of litter in the citikitty- so why is he doing this?

Hi there...some cats require a little while longer on each ring. Once they show they are confident, then you can progress to the next stage. The other problem many cats find using the CitiKitty is that the plastic is quite flimsy and this makes them feel unstable while learning. Cats who haven't learned to position all four feet on the seat lid while defecating struggle awhile longer to gain confidence. Continue at the stage he's comfortable until he doesn't touch the training kit. Then you can progress forward.

Here are some Litter Kwitter videos that explains the steps a little better which may be helpful when toilet training: http://litterkwitter.com/mediaGallery/training_movies.html (Look within the red bar "Doogie's Training"...Training movies)

I am not familiar with Citikitty, but, if it's one of those "automatic" litter pans, and makes some kind of noise, it's probably scaring the .......out of him! Put out a "regular" litterpan, with scoopable litter in it, and see if that makes a difference. Good luck........
