I have it too- eczema is a life long condition unfortunately. You can keep it under control by
Moisturizing after shower- use Aveeno!!!!
Make sure you drink enough water.
The key is moisturizing, if your skin gets too dry, then you get into that vicious itchy/ flaky cycle. Then you need to use hydrocortisone %1 ointment. Your skin should heal eventually, stop scratching!!!

The causes of excema vary, and depend on the particular type of excema that a person has. Atopic dermatitis and contact dermatitis are the two major excema types. Atopic Eczema is thought to be a hereditary condition. It is proposed that people with atopic eczema are sensitive to allergens in the environment which are harmless to others. Unfortunately when it is hereditary there is little you can do to avoid it. It is especially common in infants and children. In Atopic Dermatitis there is an excessive reaction by the immune system producing inflamed, irritated and sore skin. Associated atopic conditions include asthma and hay fever.
Contact dermatitis occurs when substances that irritate the skin chemically come in contact with the skin. By learning which substances cause the irritation, this form of eczema can be controlled. The causes which are termed as Internal are – Hereditary, Food, and Stress. Those termed as External are – Allergens and Irritants. It would not be of use were I to name any specific treatment, as different people react to different treatments. If any of the treatments that you use appear to reduce the effect, you should be aware that any of the above mentioned causes, especially Stress, may bring about a relapse. You would be advised to seek advice from your doctor or dermatologist to give you the appropriate examination to try to determine the cause and prescribe treatment.

My little boy had eczema on his cheeks. I was not sure what method to use but I didn't want to make my boy go through any surgery treatments at this young age. Some suggested a plastic surgeon since it was in a very visible location but our family doctor recommend this natural guide.
Best Eczema Treatment?

Try an eczema product from derma doctor (dermadoctor.com). I do not have eczema but have tried several things for the skin condition I have, keratosis pilaris, including prescription creams & nothing worked until I bought her product- what I thought I would just be stuck with the rest of my life is now gone!

Try going to a natural health store, I am sure you would be able to find somethings that will rid you of eczema for good. The only thing you have to do is be patient. When using natural remedies you don't always get quick results.

Typically, skin conditions such as eczema have to do with poor dieting. Learn here https://tr.im/tO0Kp
Eczema food triggers such as eggs, fish, peanuts, and soy are known to help reduce flare-ups, but this can vary from person to person. These foods may also exacerbate eczema because many people cannot properly digest the proteins, which causes an allergic reaction.

Okay: I had "eczema" for years when I was like 11-15. I went to several different and well-known dermies about it too. Then this one time my actual doctor himself was out sick so I agreed to have his assistant see me because it was a routine check up to get a refill on my usual prescription. She decided to take a little scraping from my affected hand to take a look herself, I guess because she was doing her medical school internship and needed as much experience as she could get. I got a call two weeks later saying that she had been able to examine the sample culture after "growing it" or whatever (yeah, now this sounds too gross and personal for Yahoo Answers, but I'm trying to help you here)... It turned out that I had a minor fungal infection, probably from working with clay, since my mother is a potter, or from fencing which you have to wear mesh gloves for, or from water polo, or... EVERY dermatologist had insisted that it was eczema. A couple of my relatives even have eczema, so we never even questioned the diagnosis. Well- this awesome med school intern/assistant wrote me a prescription for a light cream, I used it for about one week, and the NON-"eczema" was gone forever. I had it badly for years of my life, and it was excruciating. I have never ever ever had it since, not even for a blip or a second. PLEASE make them take a culture, and even just try this specific prescription... okay, they won't tell me over the phone, but are sending me my records, which takes 3 weeks, so in 3 weeks I will add a "comment" to this question so you have the medication name. I hope this helps!

I agree, it does suck. I had it badly when I was young (I'm 50 now) and yes, the scars will fade. Do you have a good dermatologist? If not, find one and get prescription cream for it. You may also need oral steroids.
Mine has been dormant for a long time now but if I let my skin get too dry or if the weather is too humid, certain areas will still flare up. I swear by Aveeno products, especially the daily moisturizing lotion, I use it every day just to keep my skin in good condition.
Good luck to you.
