Tell me about the "gimmicks", stuff you aquired but never use or any other piece collecting dust in your fishing arsenal.
This may be of use to some of those desiring to buy tackle for gifts this season.

T, i got some of those lures with light stick inserts held in place with tiny O-rings you could barely hold in your fingers they were so small. too much trouble to mess with. NO MORE BOBBERS, PLEASE! i have enough to tie them together and make a decent fishing raft.

fisher1221us, i take that to indicate you are a catch and release fisherman or need a larger surface to fillet your catch. that's my story too!

I have a Muskie lure called "Chucky Duck" hanging on my wall. It is a hand carved wooden duck with paddles attached to the sides, and two huge treble hooks . One hangs from the chest and the other is attached to the.....you get the picture. What's interesting is that I live in S. Cal. and I actually paid money for this thing, must have looked cute at the time. On the other hand if Muskie ever show up here I'm more than ready, and I'm the only kid on the block with one.
Fun question !!
Edit: Just read this over again and missed something first time . Helicopter lures! I haven't heard them mentioned for years, (which is a good thing). Where do I get one to hang next to my Duck?

Actually the most useless piece of fishing equipment in my boat is a set of scales, for tournament fishing you don't need scales after you start culling fish you need a balance beam, it's more accurate. As for the gimmicks their are alot of them out their and most of the ones you see them really pushing on tv are a joke although they may catch a fish. If it sounds too good to be true it more than likely is a gimmick. On the regular top fishing shows they are selling a product and some of them work. Some you baits like spinnerbaits, jigs, and crankbaits need some fine tuning or you may be their all day trying to catch a fish. I probably have a bait for almost any place in my boat for catching largemouth and smallmouth bass. Good luck

HA HA HA so many and so little space
Those giant round bobbers, if using a bobber now I prefer the ones with a stick through them. Also have a lot of those lighted bobbers.
How about those catfish pods that come on the treble hook and have a slit in them so you can squirt that tube stink bait into it. I may have used them one time.
I'm sure I will think of some others after I hit submit!

... pheasant tail, airflo line, rubbish, impossible, lol i really like the
the ride line in fact i even found it better than the sage performance taper 11 line, any way the things that i have got that i never use are one of those fishing tools, you probably don't know what i mean but one that has the measure and the scales and unhooker built in, i recieved it last christmas and have never used it.
