Pseudoephedrine gives me bad heart palpitations and extreme anxiety, leads to chest pains. I've tried taking Zyrtec, which has Psuedo and the side effects made me feel so bad, I stopped taking the med.

I've asked the allergiest to change my medication, he gave me Allergra D, same thing bad side effects, mostly bad heart racing/anxiety, that last the entire time I was taking the med, once I stopped a few days later, side effects go away.

Is there any allergy medication, that doesn't contain Pseudo or similar ingredient, I can take to help with allergies ?? Or any allergy med that doesn't cause harsh side effects. Thanks for any help.

I would try regular loratadine (claratin or alavert). Some forms of loratadine have "D" after them and that means decongestant..thats where the pseudo comes in. I have the same problem, and have to read the boxes of OTC meds very closely.
Of course benadryl is the old stand-by, but boy it sure makes you sleepy. Better for night time use.

Zyrtec comes as plain Zyrtec of Zyrtec-D (which has pseudoephedrine) - maybe you could try the plain Zyrtec. Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant, and maybe you don't even need it.

Have you looked at Sudafed? I am not sure if it does, but it is safe for pregnant women, also, Tylenol allergy. Ask your pharmacist, they are a huge help !
