My mother told me that I can't. I have my GED and I achieved an extremely high score on it. I received an Honors GED with 740/800... thats pretty good. Can I still join the military? Will I be limited as to what my options are once I join?

Yes you can. The Navy requires an ASVAB above 50 and if it is lower you need three letters of reference with a GED. On the other hand the army will take you with no requirements just your GED.

As an ex Navy recruiter I know that they do have a program for non grads. But they are only allowed very few per year. Please bear in mind that this was a few years ago.the economy has taken a down turn since then, so they may have suspended the program. Now a days, the military is the place to be.

Yes, you can join the Army for sure with a GED. You're options are based on your ASVAB test scores not whether or not you have a high school diploma or GED. I hope this helps!

Army will take you. Air force and Navy will not. I am not sure about Marines, maybe someone else will know about that one. Good luck.
